August 16, 2025 (Sat.) - Lynn's day in Idaho Falls, ID.
Lynn started the day with breakfast at Smitty’s alongside her sister Jill (Trish opted to skip it). She ordered a baby German pancake with bacon, and it was delicious—but the service? A little chaotic. The servers were friendly, but they mixed up the orders and the bills. Lynn asked for no fruit but got fruit on the pancake plus extra fruit on the side. Lynn’s bacon? It ended up on Jill’s plate. To top it off, they gave us separate checks (even though we initially said one check was fine) with the wrong items—Jill even got charged for Lynn’s bacon! In the end, we laughed it off. The food was great, and it didn’t really matter to either of us.
Later, we prepared for the graveside service to honor our cousin Ted. Family and friends gathered, and our cousin Shane gave a beautiful Life Sketch and Memories speech that truly resonated. My sisters and I found comfort in knowing we weren’t the only cousins who had wrecked Ted’s ATVs over the years.
After the service, we met up with more family at The Brickyard in Ammon for lunch and heartfelt reunions—bittersweet moments shared under sad circumstances.
Before heading out to the farm for a family dinner, my sisters and I took a peaceful walk along the riverwalk near the Falls, did a little downtown shopping, stopped at Reed’s Dairy and enjoyed some quiet time together. Around 6:30 PM, we made our way to the family farm, walked the fields and gardens, greeted the horses, and stopped by Grandma’s old house. The farm hasn’t changed much in 50 years, and that’s exactly what we love about it—its timelessness and the memories it holds.
We wrapped up the evening around 9 PM, said our goodbyes and ‘see-ya laters’, and talked about planning a family reunion—it’s been far too long.
It was a long, emotional day, filled with laughter, tears, and love. Ted’s legacy lives on in all of us.
Weather (Idaho Falls, ID) – High 88*, Low 57*. No wind, no humidity.
Traffic – None.
Food – Great food at the farm and Ted’s Memorial.
Notable – Ted’s Memorial and vising the farm to see family.
August 16, 2025 (Sat.) - Kirk's 2nd day Solo in WI.
Saturday was a quiet one for Kirk. With Lynn away, he went on a solo ride to explore the area, then spent a little time at the Indian Bike Week grounds, where he tried a Spotted Cow beer—a Wisconsin exclusive. Verdict? Pretty good.
The big event of the day—a World Record attempt for the most Indian bikes in one ride—was unfortunately cancelled due to thunderstorms. It was the only group ride Kirk had planned to join, so… maybe next year.
Not many photos today. Just more rain and rolling thunder to close out the evening.
Weather (New Richmond, WI) – Rain and thunderstorms.
Traffic – None.
Food – Spotted Cow Beer. Only available in Wisconsin – pretty good.
Notable – Nothing much. Ride was cancelled.
