July 5, 2026 (Sun.) - The Day We Accomplished Absolutely Nothing.
No real plans for today — just Lynn trying to catch up on the blog. Still two weeks behind and the backlog isn’t getting any shorter. Honestly, Lynn kind of loves these “do‑nothing days.” The less we do, the faster she catches up on the blog. Efficiency through laziness — works perfectly!
Lynn was up a little after 7 a.m. to a chilly 49°. Kirk didn’t appear until 10 a.m. It was a slow‑motion morning for both of us after yesterday’s long day. We spent most of the day doing absolutely nothing of consequence: movies, a few chores, blogging, and general laziness.
Around 2 p.m., we hit a tiny snag when the power went out. Ten minutes later it popped back on like nothing happened — just long enough to make us wonder if we should actually get up and do something. We didn’t.
A quiet, no‑frills day with zero photos to show for it — just naps, movies, blogging, and a brief power outage to keep things interesting.
Weather – High 77*, Low 44*. Winds 2-8 mph with 14 mph gusts. No humidity.
Traffic – None. Didn’t go anywhere.
Food – Nothing to report. Ate in the RV all day.
Notable – Nothing to report.
Screen time – Haywire (movie – ok), Neglected (movie – so/so), The Mermaid (2025 movie – terrible).
July 6, 2026 (Mon.) - Final Day in Pinedale.
It’s travel‑prep day! After 12 days in Pinedale, we’re finally packing up and getting ready to roll out tomorrow.
Lynn was up early at 6:00 a.m. (a crisp 50° outside), and Kirk surfaced around 9:00. The plan was simple: stock up and gas up. Since nothing is close to Rim Station, we had to head into downtown Pinedale for anything resembling civilization. And because we hadn’t tried any breakfast spots yet, we decided today was the day.
We left at 9:30 and landed at Heart & Soul Bakery Cafe. Pinedale doesn’t exactly overflow with breakfast choices, but this one looked promising. Kirk ordered oatmeal pancakes and bacon; Lynn went with her trusty chicken fried steak. Both were decent, and the quiet patio made for a nice start to the morning. After breakfast, we wandered over to the Visitors Center. Not much there — just a Mountain Man sculpture and a cow mural — but we checked the box. Then it was off for gas and groceries. Nothing thrilling to report.
By noon we were back at the RV, and Kirk started the outdoor travel prep. He even caught a cool photo of a giant moth — thankfully outside and not inside the RV, where it would’ve caused absolute chaos.
Rain rolled in around 7:30 p.m. and lasted most of the night. Good thing Kirk had already put the bike and everything else away before the skies opened up.
Other than chores, not much to report today — just a few pics and a whole lot of getting ready for tomorrow’s move.
