Another "Cave" Day...Hiding from the Heat!
After yesterday’s long day on the road, we had nothing planned for today. It was shaping up to be another scorcher, and our main mission was simple: get the windshield fixed.
Lynn was up at 06:00 and skipped her usual walk — by the time “walking hour” rolled around, it was already too hot. She spent the morning sorting through iPhone photos and videos, trying to free up space. Kirk was up unusually early at 8:00, made breakfast, and started working on scheduling the windshield repair. The earliest appointment was tomorrow in Billings (45 minutes away)… which happened to be the day we were supposed to leave for Butte. So Kirk spent part of the morning rearranging our campsite reservations to make everything line up again.
Lynn spent most of the day blogging and reviewing photos while Kirk relaxed in the blessed A/C. It turned into another full “cave day,” hiding from the heat and keeping cool inside the RV.
By 6:00 p.m., we finally ventured out. After being cooped up all day, we decided to try Chinese food in Montana and headed to The Grand Fortune Chinese Restaurant. It was still hot and a bit humid outside. The food was… fine. A little bland, but it filled the gap. After dinner, we drove around Columbus for a bit and made it back to the RV around 7:30 p.m.
The day wrapped up with a few chores and a cool sunset — a quiet end to a quiet day, and exactly what we needed before tomorrow’s windshield adventure. Not many pics today.
Weather – High 95*, Low 65*. Winds 3-10/13 mph. No rain. Slight humidity.
