Sunrise and Bike Rides...a quiet Monday.
We had nothing on the agenda today except calling the dentist.
Lynn was up at 0630 to a beautiful sunrise. Kirk rolled out at his usual 9am. We both ate light, and Lynn stuck to soft foods. By 0930 she called the dentist and scheduled an extraction — the pain over the last few days made the choice easy. Come Wednesday, she’ll be one tooth lighter.
We also booked the Lewis & Clark Caverns tour for tomorrow at 4:30pm. The rest of the day was quiet: chores, relaxing, Lynn catching up on the blog and bills.
By 2:30pm, Kirk was bored. Lynn handed him a couple of outdoor “projects”: removing the expired 2025 Custer State Park sticker and fixing the rain guard on the truck window. Naturally, it had been cloudy and cool all day — perfect working weather — until the moment we stepped outside. Then the sun came blazing out and it turned hot.
An hour later, chores were done and we retreated to the A‑C for a lazy afternoon of staying cool and doing absolutely nothing productive. Kirk made BBQ ribs for dinner — excellent, and Lynn was able to eat bite‑sized pieces without too much trouble.
Around 8pm we decided it was the perfect time for a bike ride. We grabbed the e‑bikes and cruised the nature trail along the RV park — a short, pretty 30‑minute ride with a few stops by the river to soak in the evening light. All the photos were courtesy of Kirk; novice‑rider Lynn was far too focused on staying upright to attempt any multitasking. Kirk remains the undisputed two‑wheeled expert of the household.
Afterward, we sat outside enjoying the cool air when Lynn spotted the campground kitty. A young girl was petting it, so Lynn dashed inside for cat treats… but by the time she returned, the kitty had vanished like a tiny feline ninja.
A whole lot of nothing today — and a whole lot of TV. Not many photos, but a nice, easy day.
Weather – High 84*, Low 54*. Winds 1-12//23 mph. No rain, no humidity.
Traffic – None. Didn’t go anywhere.
Food – Kirk’s BBQ Ribs – very good.

Screen time – The Hyperions, The Hawk, Altered (stopped watching it was so bad), Obsession 2026 (not very good).
