June 7, 2026 (Sun.) - A Day of Rest.
Today was moving day. Not quite a full “Departure Day,” but we still took our traditional departure photo—because even moving a few yards deserves documentation. Technically, we couldn’t relocate until after 11 a.m., since the previous occupants had until then to clear out.
The day started early for Lynn at 5:30 a.m. and at a far more civilized 9:00 a.m. for Kirk. Even though we were only shifting to a nearby site, we still had to prep the rig and disconnect everything. Lynn headed out for her usual walk at 8:15, but with this campground being much smaller, a one‑hour walk meant circling the place four times and weaving up and down the aisles. Thank goodness for audiobooks—they make repetitive laps feel slightly less repetitive. She wrapped up about 15 minutes early as the heat was already settling in.
By 9:00, Lynn was back at the blog. After so much time on the move, getting back into the rhythm took a bit of re-learning. Photo resizing, in particular, felt like solving a small puzzle.
At 11:00, we were finally able to move to our new site, B8. The previous occupants had left, and we rolled the few yards over. The site is much larger, and our patio overlooks the open tent and cabin area. Next door is the Tipi and of course we had to sneak a peek when the occupants left. There was a padlock on the door but we managed to snap a few photos from the side flap. We were just curious what the inside looked like! There’s also the “Woody Tent” next to the Tipi that we want to explore but people were in it!
We spent the afternoon relaxing outside on the back patio—something we hadn’t done in months—and enjoyed the breezy, peaceful setting. Best of all: no traffic noise. It was wonderfully quiet! The afternoon was also spent catching up on chores, napping, TV and blogging. Kirk discovered some wires hanging from his bike and had to investigate. Turns out the service crew back in Orange County forgot to plug something back in. Thankfully, it was an easy fix—just reconnect and done.
In the evening, we took our e‑bikes out for a ride around the campground. Lynn was a little nervous about the gravel roads, uneven patches, and dips, but she handled it well. No falling! Kirk grilled tri‑tip for dinner, and later we watched Lee Cronin’s The Mummy—good, but definitely on the intense side. By 9:30 p.m., when it finally got dark, we enjoyed the warm evening on the patio with wine and a fire.
At 11 p.m., Lynn finally published her first blog post (6/3/26) since December 2025—a satisfying way to end the day!
Weather – High 85*, Low 57*. Winds 4-19 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. No rain. No humidity.
Traffic – None. Didn’t go anywhere.
Food – Nothing to report. Ate in the RV all day. (It’s a miracle!)
Notable – The breezy and quiet campground.
