October 28, 2025 (Tue.) - Catch up.
Not much on the agenda today. Lynn was up at 7:30 AM, sticking to her usual morning routine and diving into blog work—mainly focused on compressing photos to free up space. With over 3,000 images to tackle, it was no small task! Meanwhile, Kirk caught up on sleep and didn’t stir until 11:00 AM after a restless night.
Â
The day turned into a quiet one—just rest, blog tasks, and a few chores. With travel planned for tomorrow, Kirk handled his usual prep work for the RV.
Â
Lynn stayed busy all day, chipping away at the photo compression project and managed to publish three blog posts in one day—making solid progress on catching up! It took her 8 hours to complete the photo compression (like a full-time job!).
Â
No photos today. We didn’t venture out, just stayed tucked into the campground and enjoyed a low-key day.

October 29, 2025 (Wed.) - A Rainy Road to Frankfort.
Today’s journey took us to Frankfort, KY—a relatively short hop at just 90 miles, about a two-hour drive. With plenty of time to pack up and leave Elizabethtown, Lynn was up early as usual on travel days. At 6:45 AM, it was a chilly 52°F (felt more like 49°), dark, and steadily raining. She spent the quiet morning working on the blog until Kirk stirred around 9:00 AM. Still raining.
By 11:00 AM, we were ready to roll—yes, still raining. Kirk handled all the outdoor RV prep (thankfully), while Lynn took care of the inside. The drive was smooth and uneventful, other than the rain. We made a quick stop at a rest area in Shelbyville, KY, which turned out to be one of the nicest we’ve seen. It had a spacious, attended lobby and some quirky vending machine offerings—Hot Wheels, Etch-a-Sketch and pacifiers! We also learned a fun fact: there are more barrels of bourbon than there are people in Kentucky!
We pulled into Elkhorn Creek RV Park around 1:00 PM. The rain hadn’t let up. After unpacking and making lunch, we settled in for a quiet afternoon in the RV, watching a few shows and movies. Lynn also squeezed in some more blog time.
The evening followed suit—low-key and cozy. We’re still spotting stink bugs, though. Could be lingering hitchhikers from Elizabethtown, or maybe they’ve joined us here in Frankfort. Or both!
Weather (Frankfort, KY)- High 52*, Low 47*. Winds 5-12 mph with gusts up to 26 mph. Rain all day! No humidity.
Traffic – None.
Food – Nothing to report.
Notable – Nothing to report.
Screen time – Prey, Atypical, Billionaire Bunker.
