July 13, 2025 (Sun.) - Travel prep.
Not much to report—it was all about travel prep today.
Lynn was up with the sun around 6:00 AM, savoring her usual peaceful outdoor coffee ritual before the whirlwind of chores began. Kirk, on the other hand, didn’t surface until 9:00 AM, thanks to a symphony of chaos: a dog (bloodhound) howling from a few sites over and some rogue car alarms chiming in (pure coincidence, but a jarring wake-up nonetheless).
Knowing we’ll be boondocking (no hookups) for the next few days, Lynn jumped into laundry mode, tackling clothing, bedding, and anything else that could benefit from a fresh spin. She also did a sweep of the RV—tossing out worn-out flip flops and sneakers in favor of the newly purchased ones.
Kirk’s prep involved a few must-haves: he picked up a sturdier step ladder, topped off the propane tanks, and packed away all the outdoor gear—chairs, grill, etc., and organized the garage.
We wrapped up errands with a late (8pm) grocery run, stocking up for the days ahead. Got blinded by a beautiful sunset on the way to the store though. Thankfully, there’s not a lot of traffic here.
Lynn’s fun find at the grocery store : a shelf lined with mini spice bottles—Custer clearly caters to its camper clientele, knowing full well that good flavor doesn’t require big storage space.
By evening, we kept things low-key. Lynn squeezed in a bit of blogging, catching up on entries from the past few days.
Pics were minimal today.
