August 18, 2025 (Mon.) - Back in WI.
The day kicked off early with us sisters grabbing breakfast and coffee in the hotel lobby—only to find it packed at 6:00 AM! Turns out a large tour group (mostly Korean travelers) was staying at the hotel, heading to explore Salt Lake City before continuing on to Las Vegas. It was so crowded that some guests were taking tables already claimed, water bottles and all. We even got asked to move seats so a family could sit together. At 6 AM, with barely a sip of coffee in us, it was… a bit much, but we obliged. Jill asked where they were from—Los Angeles, not quite the exotic answer we were hoping for! LOL.
The trip to the airport and through TSA was smooth this time. On Lynn’s last flight out of Minneapolis, she got “randomly selected” for the body scanner, but today was uneventful. We hung out until boarding time, said our goodbyes and “see ya laters,” and headed to our separate gates. Just a few more months until we’re all back together for the holidays.
Back in Minnesota, Kirk picked Lynn up at the airport. Her flight was slightly delayed due to runway issues in SLC, and the pickup line at MSP was chaotic. Airport patrol was actively moving cars along, and Kirk’s big truck couldn’t fit in the parking garages—plus, there’s no cell phone lot. He ended up waiting at a McDonald’s a few miles down the road. Jill and Trish made it home safely too, though their plane had a tarmac delay at JWA.
We stopped for lunch at Famous Dave’s near the airport, but sadly, it was underwhelming. It used to be great—this time, not so much.
Back at the RV, Lynn was surprised by how empty the campground had become. It was actually kind of nice to have so much space. The rest of the day was spent unpacking, doing laundry, and prepping for travel day tomorrow.
Indian Bike Week officially wrapped up. While it was fun meeting fellow riders and seeing all the bikes, we’re not sure we’ll be back next year. We’ll see where the road takes us.
Not many photos today. The evening ended with a beautiful sunset over the campground.
Weather – Nice. Cool, cloudy.
Traffic – None.
Food – Nothing to report.
Notable – Safe flight home.
