August 19, 2025 (Tue.) - Off to Wisconsin Dells.
It’s travel day! After 13 days in New Richmond, WI, we were ready to roll. We really enjoyed our time exploring this corner of Wisconsin and Minnesota, crossing state lines more times than we can count. Now, we’re off to Wisconsin Dells, a spot Kirk picked specifically to visit The Witches Gulch—a scenic walk through towering sandstone cliffs, accessible by boat tour.
We hit the road at 10 AM, with an ETA of 1 PM for the 200-mile drive. After one quick rest stop, we pulled into the campground around 2 PM. The drive was smooth and uneventful—beautiful scenery, though much of it blends into the familiar Midwest landscape we’ve come to know.
Our new home base is Country Roads Motorhome & RV Park in Wisconsin Dells, WI, which proudly caters to the “Older Kids” crowd. Translation: peaceful, quiet, and low-key, unlike the bustling family-focused campgrounds like Yogi Bear’s Jellystone. We’re at lucky site #13, a shaded pull-through spot with full hookups. Not huge, but cozy and comfortable. The weather? Perfect—sunny, warm, and blissfully low humidity.
Once we got settled, we spent the rest of the day relaxing. As night fell, the dark skies came alive with sound—insects, frogs, or some other wild chorus that was almost deafening. We’ve never heard anything quite like it… and we loved it.
Weather (Wisconsin Dells, WI) – High 79*, Low 65*. Winds 2-7 mph. Low humidity.

Notable – The evening sounds of nature.
