July 6, 2025 (Sun.) – Lazy Day & More Hail

July 6, 2025 (Sun.) - Recovery day, hail

After a whirlwind few days, sleeping in until 9:00 AM felt downright luxurious—especially for Lynn. Sometimes the best way to recharge is to simply do nothing, and that’s exactly how this day unfolded.

We spent it lounging in the RV, catching up on shows, enjoying our meals indoors, and stealing a few moments outside to soak up the gorgeous weather.

The unexpected highlight? A yellow-bellied marmot (we thought it was a prairie dog) sighting in the campground. Google Lens says it’s a marmot, but who knows… Otis went full stealth mode, creeping up with all the intensity of a seasoned hunter—in slow motion, of course. Not a chance he was going to catch anything, but watching him tiptoe is always pure entertainment.

By evening, the skies shifted. Around 8 PM, the rain rolled in, followed by a bit of hail, and then—like a cinematic finale—a stunning sunset broke through. Gentle chaos followed by calm… a perfect way to wrap up a quiet day.

Weather – High 73*, Low 53*. Winds up to 6 mph. Rain & Hail (not originally in the forecast per weather app).

Traffic – None. Didn’t go anywhere.

Food – Nothing to report. Ate in RV all day.

Notable – Hail, Prairie Dog, Sunset, Relaxing.

Videos :

  1. Otis stalking the Yellow-Bellied Marmot??. Always entertaining when he’s in stealth mode. I think Kirk scared it off more than Otis.
  2. Hail – 8 pm.
  3. Hail – the downside of living in an RV.
  4. More Hail
